Grand Rapids has said goodbye to another restaurant.

A Creston neighborhood eatery announced its permanent closure on Facebook April 27. The owners of Sanitary Fish & Market Place wrote simply, "Final Day. Permanently Closing." No more information about the closure was shared.

Located at 2468 Plainfield Ave. NE, the restaurant has been in operation for over a decade. According to its website, Sanitary Fish & Market Place seemed to be a revival  previous eatery called Sanitary Seafood.

The restaurant served Ocean Perch, Cod, Lake Perch, Catfish, Smelt, Clams Shrimp, Scallops, Herring, Chicken Strips, Livers, Wings, Hush Puppies, Onion Rings, Cauliflower, Okra, Mushrooms, Jalapeno Poppers, and more.

Many in the comments on social media seemed shocked and saddened by the news.

Just randomly had the urge to have your fish today, and then learned it was your last day! Last cod basket was enjoyed thoroughly. We'll miss you guys.

The news of the closure comes after another restaurant in the same neighborhood announced it would be shutting down -- though the owners do hope to reopen in a new location. La Huasteca Mexican restaurant's last day in business on Plainfield Ave. was April 15.
